When a disaster strikes, World Vision staff fill multiple tractor-trailers with donated and procured emergency essentials like food and
clean water, hygiene kits, diapers,
blankets, cleaning supplies, generators, and more.
Because our partners are local, together, we are able to rapidly identify the hardest hit areas and deliver hope through tangible goods and services, often supporting the rebuilding efforts for years after the initial disaster.
In places like Appalachia, the Navajo Nation, and the South Side of Chicago, poverty levels are high, families are broken, and the housing stock and infrastructure is often over 100 years old. Children and families lack the basic resources and tools needed to break the cycle of poverty.
World Vision equips partners with donated product that can help families get back on their feet and out of poverty towards a hope-filled future.
In high-poverty areas, over half of all
students are at least one grade behind. The schools serving these areas typically lack funding, resources, and even staff. Ninety
four percent of teachers report paying for classroom necessities out of their own pocket.
World Vision serves students, teachers, and schools by providing educational tools that help overcome barriers to achievement. These resources are distributed directly to schools, or via five Teacher Resource Centers in our World Vision Storehouses where teachers can come and “shop” for free classroom resources.
